Construction HSE Advisor

Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 8-hour days (occasional weekend work compensated with time off)

Purpose of the Role:
The Senior HSE Advisor will provide expert HSE knowledge and guidance to managers, employees, and contractors. They will support safe work practices, legal compliance, risk management, and contribute to the development and implementation of [Client]'s HSE systems and culture.

Reporting Lines:

  • Line Manager: Head of Regional QHSE Advisors, Europe

  • Project Reference: Project QHSE Director

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and promote a proactive HSE culture.

  • Ensure legal compliance and use of [Client]'s management systems and procedures.

  • Support and promote data-driven risk management.

  • Facilitate or participate in:

    • Safety meetings, Toolbox Talks, briefings

    • Site inspections and Safety Walks

    • HAZID/HAZOP workshops

    • Cultural programmes and campaigns

  • Review and advise on Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).

  • Monitor and assess HSE compliance using [Client]'s Synergi tool.

  • Investigate incidents and manage follow-ups including root cause analysis and lessons learned.

  • Liaise effectively with contractors and internal stakeholders.

  • Support internal and external audits and follow up on findings.

  • Provide ad hoc HSE guidance to teams and management.

Key Deliverables:

  • HSE meetings and safety inspections

  • HSE inductions and presentations

  • Incident and observation reporting (via Synergi)

  • RAMS reviews and HSE assessments

  • HSE Walk Reports (via Digital Inspection Tool)

Success Criteria:

  • Maintain current knowledge of HSE best practice and legislation.

  • Clear, positive communication with internal and external stakeholders.

  • High work ethic, structured approach, timely reporting and collaboration.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required:

  • Relevant academic or technical HSE background

  • NEBOSH Level 3 (minimum) or equivalent

  • 3-5 years of HSE experience in renewables/offshore wind preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • IT literate (MS Office; Synergi knowledge beneficial)

  • Root cause analysis and incident investigation skills

  • Experience working with contractors

  • Fluent in English

  • Clean EU driving license

Desirable:

  • NEBOSH/IEMA Environmental qualification

  • QHSE Diploma or equivalent (Level 6)

  • Certified Auditor

  • Experience delivering training

  • [Client] or offshore construction experience

IT Requirements:

  • [Client] will provide necessary equipment (laptop, etc.)

  • Consultants must provide their own iPhone, compatible with [Client] Air Watch security software

  • All personal devices used must be updated with the latest iOS and may be wiped by [Client] if security or GDPR compliance is compromised.

Travel & Work Conditions:

  • Primarily based in Gdańsk at [Client] Construction Offices

  • Offshore travel and site visits as required

  • Occasional travel to project office and Warsaw office

  • Travel and accommodation outside Gdańsk will be reimbursed

  • Flexibility for hybrid working may be possible depending on project needs
