Values in Action
Our approach to corporate social responsibility reflects Mane’s values and the way we operate as a business. We focus on four connected areas: creating an inclusive workplace, reducing our environmental impact, acting ethically and contributing positively to our communities.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)
Mane promotes diversity across its candidate base and within its own leadership team. Currently, 50% of the leadership team is female, with 30% representation from ethnic minority communities.
We maintain policies, facilities and initiatives designed to create a fair and inclusive environment for employees and contractors. This includes our Fairness, Inclusion and Respect programme, supported by trained FIR Ambassadors.
Mane also works with local schools to promote STEM careers to a diverse audience. As a recognised Disability Confident employer, we remain committed to improving accessibility and inclusion across our organisation.
Environmental Sustainability
Mane actively works to reduce its environmental impact and carbon footprint.
Our approach includes setting fleet electrification goals, maintaining ISO 14001 certification for more than 15 years and continually identifying opportunities to improve eco-efficiency.
We also work with registered waste carriers to support reuse and recycling and require responsible environmental management practices from our suppliers and clients.
Ethical Business Practices
Mane operates in accordance with professional, ethical and legal standards.
Our policies cover equal opportunities, anti-bullying, responsible labour practices and the prevention of modern slavery. We also support oversight of employment standards for clients, helping to promote fair and responsible working practices.
As a merit-based organisation, Mane is committed to employee development and creating future STEM talent pipelines.
Community Engagement
Mane supports its communities through charitable activity, local school partnerships and initiatives designed to promote STEM careers.
Employees are also encouraged to take part in volunteering opportunities through our community service programme.
Mane is a signatory to the Armed Forces Covenant and holds the Bronze Award under the Employer Recognition Scheme, reflecting our commitment to supporting veterans and members of the Armed Forces community into employment.

Supporting Causes That Matter
Our community activity is shaped by the causes that matter to our colleagues and the communities around us.
Across Mane, teams take part in fundraising events, charitable challenges and practical initiatives throughout the year. This has included Macmillan Coffee Mornings, Jeans for Genes, food bank collections, sponsored events such as Alzheimer’s Society Trek26, and employee-led fundraising for charities close to our colleagues’ hearts.
These activities give our people the opportunity to get involved, raise awareness and support organisations making a positive difference.

When I first started at Mane, I was impressed to see CSR ingrained as an integral business practice - not just espoused values. Mane operates paperless, recycles extensively and we are encouraged to take paid time to support valued charities. We work with renewable energy firms to align on social responsibility and sustainability. On day one I was informed a tree had been planted in my name, and this is something they do for every new starter. We are also urged to participate in green initiatives. Mane builds corporate social responsibility into the fabric of company culture and client partnerships.

Opening Pathways into STEM
Mane is committed to helping more young people understand the opportunities available across science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Our trained STEM Ambassadors work with schools, colleges and community groups to introduce young people to technical and engineering careers, share practical industry insight and provide guidance on the skills and pathways available to them.
We recognise that many groups remain underrepresented across STEM, particularly women and girls. Through outreach, mentoring and careers engagement, we aim to make these industries feel more visible, accessible and achievable for people from a wider range of backgrounds.
By connecting education with the sectors we support every day, we can help inspire future talent and contribute to a more diverse and sustainable skills pipeline.
