Mane Energy are looking for E&I Quantity Surveyor for exciting long term upcoming project in UK.
Location: UK
Duties:
- Collaborate closely with project managers and quantity surveyors to develop monthly progress applications, incorporating all values related to labor, materials management, plant, equipment, and escalations.
- Perform take-offs from all construction drawings to document and manage any changes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure that construction installations adhere to the project plan, documenting and communicating any delays to the client, along with a corresponding cause-and-effect analysis.
- Oversee the completion and submission of early warnings and variations for any additional work beyond the agreed scope.
- Identify and manage project risks, ensuring that these are mitigated commercially to maintain a clear and up-to-date risk position.
- Prepare monthly in-house commercial reports and maintain complete control over all commercial aspects of the project.
- Ensure that contract reviews provide high-quality, relevant management information to clarify project status for leadership teams.
- Monitor earned value and perform weekly calculations of spending versus earned value.
- Participate in handover meetings for all relevant projects.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to prepare CCS budgets for projects and update them as needed.
- Prepare cash flow analyses and update as necessary, examining the timing of sales and costs.
- Monitor and analyze project delivery status in collaboration with project leadership teams.
- Mentor all personnel under your supervision to enhance their capabilities and performance.
- Address any problematic situations on projects and liaise with legal representatives as necessary.
- Maximize profitability on projects by proactively managing duties and exercising commercial judgment.
- Compile monthly reports as directed by the Commercial Manager.
- Monitor site progress, ensuring timely submission of claims for recovery of losses and expenses, coordinating with the Project Manager, and referencing the appropriate contract conditions.
- Highlight to the Commercial Manager and Project Manager any areas where target costs and sales are not being met, via monthly reporting.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying and/or Electrical Engineering; a trade background is advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying within the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) contracting industry.
- Technical and practical knowledge of all phases of contract development, administration, and close-out in multi-discipline construction projects.
- Awareness of current industry and technical developments.
- Strong working knowledge of administering FIDIC, ICE, and other similar contract standards.
- Proven track record with recognized international standard contracting firms.
- Excellent communication skills with a strong command of English.
- Capable of preparing Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and compiling actual construction measurements.
- Ability to accept responsibilities and achieve project objectives in a timely manner.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
