The Role
Our client is looking for inquisitive and detail-oriented Mechanical Build Engineers to join their dynamic team. In this crucial role, you will support the next phase of their ambitious project delivery. Your responsibilities will include critically reviewing technical drawings and constructing high-quality, custom electromechanical automation systems, ensuring they meet specifications and adhere to strict safety standards.
As a Mechanical Build Engineer, you will work closely with various departments and stakeholders, sharing your expertise and providing constructive feedback. Your main objective will be to accurately build and test systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions. This role also involves traveling to client sites for the installation of robotic automation systems across various sectors, including defense.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and test bespoke electromechanical automation systems.
- Review and interpret technical mechanical drawings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve electrical faults.
- Travel to client sites for system installations.
- Apply knowledge of fitting bearings and using a Dial Test Indicator (DTI) to ensure precision alignment.
- Understand and work with holes/shaft tolerances as per engineering specifications.
About You
- HNC in a mechanical-focused discipline, mechanical apprenticeship, or equivalent experience.
- Strong communication skills in written and verbal English.
- Proficient in reading and understanding technical mechanical drawings.
- Eager to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Proactive problem-solver with a good understanding of industrial systems, particularly safety systems.
- Familiarity with fitting bearings, using a DTI, and working with tolerance requirements.
- Able to manage workloads and complete tasks independently.
- Full UK driving license.
- Knowledgeable about health and safety practices.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- Friday: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
- Flexible start and finish times available
