Mechanical Quantity Surveyor

Project Location: Milan, Italy

Key Responsibilities:

• Skilled in budgeting, reporting, developing BOQs, and profit planning.
• Strong communication skills, with experience leading interim commercial meetings with clients and internal project teams.
• Provide detailed commercial reports to the Project Manager on the project's financial status.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, including interim valuations and final accounts.
• Ensure timely processing of payment certificates and adherence to subcontract and procurement terms, including retention management.
• Administer contract obligations and meet additional client requirements.
• Issue interim and final accounts, ensuring all applications are accurate and in line with project and contract requirements.
• Ensure monthly applications include accurate remeasures, site changes, dayworks, and any applicable contract claims.
• Identify and manage potential commercial risks, escalating issues to senior management as necessary.
• Work closely with the Planning Engineer to ensure accurate progress reporting and an understanding of scheduling implications.
• Handle costing and agreement of daily work changes, including subcontractor re-measurement, site day works, and site change orders.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records to support commercial tracking and costing.
• Negotiate with clients or their representatives when required.
• Exhibit enthusiasm, professionalism, and dedication in all aspects of the role.

Qualification

• Minimum 4+ years of Quantity surveying experience essential on Mechanical Projects.
• 3rd level qualification in Construction Economics / Quantity Surveying ideally coupled with a technical background as either Plumber/Pipefitter (or similar) or Mechanical Engineer
• Experience working on mechanical value projects in-excess of €5million within the data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or commercial sectors.
