The Senior Shift Leader manages multiple teams or shifts within the project, ensuring seamless coordination, compliance, and communication between operations, customer representatives, and office management. This role acts as the key link between the operational floor and Project Management, driving consistency, performance, and standardisation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple shifts, ensuring alignment with project targets

  • Manage shift transitions and briefings, ensuring continuity of information.

  • Review and approve daily performance, incident, and quality reports.

  • Liaise with the Project Manager, Admin, and Customer Quality contacts to review status and escalations.

  • Ensure sufficient manpower and skill levels across shifts; plan coverage for absences or workload peaks.

  • Support customer visits, audits, and reviews by preparing accurate operational data.

  • Lead problem-solving sessions for recurring quality or process issues.

  • Approve training, competency sign-offs, and requalification for new tasks.

  • Champion continuous improvement and support the implementation of Q-Drive and Lean initiatives.


Leadership & People

  • Mentor Shift Leaders and Team Leaders, providing coaching and feedback.

  • Conduct performance reviews and disciplinary discussions when required.

  • Maintain high levels of morale, discipline, and professionalism.

  • Promote teamwork and clear communication across shifts.


Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure the correct execution of all customer safety procedures.

  • Review safety incidents, implement corrective measures, and follow up.

  • Verify inspection data integrity, ensuring all KPIs are traceable and validated.

  • Drive 5S, visual management, and standardisation of processes across shifts.

  • Overall shift performance (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People)

  • Audit results and customer satisfaction

  • Team competency and training completion

  • Escalation management effectiveness

  • Process adherence and continuous improvement outcomes

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in quality or production operations.

  • Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Deep understanding of automotive quality standards and customer expectations.

  • Skilled in conflict resolution, planning, and resource optimisation.

  • Computer literate (MS Office, Outlook, quality reporting systems).

  • Language: Dutch / English

  • Valid driver's licence (DL+) and access to a car.

  • Must be willing to rotate across 3 shifts.
