Thinking smarter and working harder has resulted in 30% growth for 2017/18. Turnover has reached £48 million with Permanent fees contributing £480,000.  There are exciting opportunities in the coming year as we venture further into new markets, both geographically and industry wise. However, let's take a moment to reflect on the successes during the last 12 months.

We have managed to successfully rebrand every one of our divisions. Having conducted some industry research, each now has a unique colour, look and feel to better showcase the service offerings available to both clients and candidates. Whilst on the subject of marketing, our online and social presence has seen significant growth. On LinkedIn for example, as our follower count closes in on 35,000, we will continue to post interesting and informative pieces relevant to our audience.

Earlier this year we ran a customer and candidate survey and the feedback received was very encouraging. Overall 94% of clients are happy to recommend our services, with 100% saying they will continue to use our services.  Additionally, 92% of placed candidates stated that their consultant displayed a sound knowledge of the role they had applied for and handled their placement in an efficient and professional manner.

The average tenure of consultants currently stands just shy of 3 years with management averaging 9 years. Many of our consultants have passed their Certificate in Recruitment Practice and take great pride in the work they perform. This may explain why, once again, we made it on to the Sunday Times 'Top 100 Best Small Companies to work for in 2018". Other awards and accreditations achieved include a 2-star award from Best Companies, maintaining our 5-star RISQS accreditation for the third year and passing the BSi IMS audit with no non-conformances or observations. Furthermore, our approval for Heathrow Airside Signatory Accreditation is imminent, opening new opportunities for the Infrastructure division. Taken together this is a great testament to the hard work that everyone puts in behind the scenes.

Delivering a consistent and high-quality service has resulted in winning new clients and continuing to form strong partnerships with large corporates, not only in the UK but across Europe and the Far East.

Our Energy division signed a framework to supply staff to a number of large offshore wind and oil & gas projects with a global Danish Maritime Organisation who have significant operations across Europe.

In the Czech Republic we invested heavily to obtain a local staffing agency licence. That licence and the Aerospace division's hard work resulted in securing an exclusive supply contract to a major MRO company. In fact, they were so impressed with Mane's support and delivery that they went on to sign up to Socium the same month!

Moving further afield, Mane ventured into the Chinese automotive market signing a framework with a global industry leader for (Search & selection) and placing several candidates in Beijing and Shanghai. Our Energy and Product & Technology teams are also working hard to form close alliances with comparative sectors in China. Socium, our Managed Service offering, is gaining international exposure with several trips to present to Senior Management Teams in Europe!

Closer to home, Socium has attracted a number of new clients this year with probably the most notable being Morgan Sindall. Prospects for Socium in the coming year look particularly strong.

This year we are celebrating a major milestone – it's our 25 year anniversary!

We will be celebrating with a wide range of activities both internally and externally over the next 12 months and what better way can there be to kick off celebrations than a move to new offices! Having been based in Watford for a number of years now, we will be moving to our new home in nearby Leavesden, located just a short distance away from the famous Harry Potter studios.

To have been around for a quarter of a century is a great achievement but our industry faces many challenges. Competition is everywhere, the last year alone saw an increase of 20% in recruitment companies operating in the UK. Add to that a technology landscape that continues to evolve at whirlwind speeds and you can see why my opening sentence is as valid for the future as it has been for our past.

Working smarter and harder with perhaps a little luck and a strong tailwind will guide us through the next 25 years.
