Mane has been awarded a framework to supply staff on the Tideway project

Mane has established a framework to provide Marine Labour Services for the construction and tunnelling of the Thames Tideway Tunnel, a 25 km transfer tunnel that will tackle the problem of sewage pollution in the River Thames. Our team has been selected to supply a range of personnel including welders, slinger signallers, crane drivers, piling operatives, supervisors, foremen, plant operators, labourers and groundworkers. Our team will be working primarily on the Central portion of the Tideway project.

The tunnel, which will run approximately from 30m to 66 metres below the bed of the River Thames, will upgrade the Victorian sewage network to meet the demands of the growing London population. Originally built in the mid-1800s, the current sewage network has been at capacity for quite some time. Tunnelling on the project, which will last four years, is expected to begin early in 2018, whilst the project is expected to be complete in 2024. Tideway Central is being delivered by the Ferrovial Agroman and Laing O’Rourke joint venture.

The tender was headed up by Darrell Atkins, Rail & Infrastructure Manager, David Butler, Commercial Director and Chris Stupack, Principal Consultant of our Energy division.
