Our brand Rail & Infrastructure magazine is issue 12! We focus on current projects such as Crossrail and Midland Main Line, Control Period 6, Luton Airport’s new DART system and a look at some of the top 10 coolest train stations in the world. Moving onto infrastructure we take a look at some of the current projects such as Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium opening and HS2.

About CP6

Control period 6 started last month on the 1^st April and will run for five years until March 2024. The aim of CP6 will not be so much about big projects, but rather focusing on running the railway better, more reliably and efficiently. We take a look at the four main focuses set out by Network Rail for CP6.

DARTING AHEAD

We take a look into the £160m transformation of London Luton Airport which included 30 new shops, a boarding pier, 1000 more seats, free Wi-Fi and more. Not only has this but we looked into the £225m investment into creating a Direct Air-Rail Transit that will transport passengers between Luton Airport Parkway station and London Luton Airport.

CONSTRUCTION NEWS

We take a look into three of the biggest projects at the moment. The opening of Spur’s new 1bn stadium, an update on the Thames Tideway progress and lastly, a look at the announcement that Dubai has just made. Dubai plans to build a new tower which is set to surpass the Burj Khalifa as the world’s tallest building.
