The UK is already ahead of schedule on cost reduction and is set to achieve its own target of £100 per megawatt hour by 2020. According to a cost-reduction monitoring report commissioned by the Offshore Wind Programme Board, the cost of offshore wind energy has already fallen by almost 11 per cent over the past four years.
This has very much been prevalent across operations and maintenance work, of which Mane have been heavily involved with recently. Our Offshore Energy teams across Rotterdam, Hamburg and London have been working exceptionally hard on delivering highly skilled contractors for leading clients of ours, for a number of different projects, globally.
Mane have supplied personnel to undertake painting repair work on the Butendiek project in Germany; a multitude of repairs, including welding, painting and rope access work on the Princes Amalia project in Mexico, as well as electrical and mechanical repair maintenance on multiple onshore and offshore projects in Germany.
The team are very much looking forward to hosting some of our clients at our Networking Drinks Evening, following the Global Offshore Exhibition during the day and discussing all things wind energy related.
